Había una vez una pareja que se trasladó una temporada a New York, vivían en un pequeño y entrañable estudio en East Village. Siempre oían algún ruido detrás de la cocina, pero querían pensar que era un rudio del eidficio.

Un noche, Joan, mientras leía sobre la gramática inglesa y Cristina dormía placidamente, descubrió que no era el único en casa que estaba despierto, conoció a un pequeño amigo llamado “ratoncito”. Este, al ser tímido, se escondió detrás de la cocina.

Decidieron  preguntarle al propietario del piso si era normal que hubiese nuevos amigos en casa, parece ser que sí, cuando se acerca el invierno los “ratoncitos” buscan cobijo y un sitio calentito donde pasar el invierno. Y gracias a los agujeros que hay en la mayoría de los edificios, les es muy fácil entrar a las casas a “hacer amigos” y buscar comida para sobrevivir. Además estos “ratoncitos” aman la ciudad de New York y están muy bien instalados por aquí.

Pero Joan y Cristina no podían tener un amiguito más en casa que rondaba por ella cuando ellos dormían o no estaban. Además son unos amigos un tanto sucios y no es muy sano  tenerlos dentro de casa merodeando. Tuvieron que pensar una manera de atrapar a este tímido amigo y decidieron comprar una pequeña trampa. La elección de la trampa fue difícil, ya que había una gran variedad, parece ser que todos los neoyorkinos tienen amiguitos en casa.

Colocaron la nueva casita para el “ratoncito” por varios sitios de la casa,  y a la mañana siguiente ahí estaba, el amiguito pasó a pertencer a otro mundo… La pareja no estaba muy féliz de lo que había pasado, pero no sabían ninguna manera mejor de evitar a estos amiguitos en casa. Tubieron un par de visitas más, pero todas con el mismo final…

Once upon a time a lovely couple moved to New York for some time, they lived in a small and pleasant studio on East Village. They always heard a noise behind the cook, but they wanted to think that it was a noise from the building.
One night, Joan, was reading about english grammar and Cristina was sleeping, he discovered he wasn’t the only one awake at home. He knew a new little friend called “mouse”. He was shy, and he runed to hide himself behind the kitchen.
The couple decided to ask to the owner of the studio if it was normal to have new friends at home, it seems that it is. When the winter comes, the “mice” look for a shelter and a hot place to spend the winter in it. And because of the holes that are on most of the buildings, it’s very easy for them to go into the houses “to make new friends” and to look for something to eat. Those “mice” love the city of New York as well, and they are very comfortable here. Image

But Joan and Cristina couldn’t have this little friend at home, who was patrolling the house when they were sleeping or weren’t at home. They are dirty friens as well, and it’s not very healthy to have them at home. They had to think in one way to catch the shy friend, and they decide to buy a small trap. The choice of the trap wasn’t as easy as they thought, there was a big variety, it seems that all the new yorkers have friends at home.

They put the new house for the “mouse” in different places at home. The next morning there he was, the little friend went to another world… The couple wasn’t very happy about what happened, but they didn’t know any other better way to avoid those little friends at home. They had two more visits, but both with the same end…
